Blog Slacker and Christmas Cards...

I have nothing cool to blog about, and lead a rather boring life. I am NOT complaining about boring, i just don't feel the need to bore you all with the lack of details! :)

I do have question about Christmas Cards.... Is it wrong that i eagerly check the mail in hopes of receiving cards, but i rarely send any out?!?!?!? I feel bad that people spend so much time and effort to send cards that i so selfishly enjoy, yet don't send a card. Hmmmm. Thoughts?

Maybe once (if) we have babies, it will feel more appropriate to send a photo card? Or would you all like to receive one with a picture of us, or no picture at all???

Hair poll

I am trying to decide on what to do with my hair. I have had it short(er) for almost a year and can't decide now if i should grow it out or keep it short. I am in a wedding next september-- yes a long time away! but think i want it short for then. There is a hair style i like that is short for an up do... anyway. My thought is i can grow it all winter so then if i decide i like it long it will be long for the wedding or if i want it short for the wedding, i can cut it late summer.

We made it ONE YEAR!!!!

Man time flies, the year was quite the mix of emotions and events. Hopefully things will flow smoothly for the next 40+ years! :)

Yesterday consisted of bowling with my fam in the am. Hanging out at my parents house for the afternoon and some football. Dinner at Lola's Lakehouse (here in Waconia) and a redbox movie-- Nights in Rodanthe. Nothing fancy, just my style. Arizona

I went to Arizona with my BFF to meet up with my other friends, last weekend. We had a blast-- lounging by/in the pool for 4 days! :) It was very relaxing and it makes me really want to move there to have warm (HOT) weather all year round.

Slacker.

Yes it's true, i am a blog slacker.

This is where i spend my time:
I <3 the lake. I was at my "lake house" all last week and tried to soak up as much sun as possible. I am back there next week (monday-monday) home for 2 days then off to AZ. I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!!

Wabasha Cave (from June 14)

I think i mentioned this in a post a while ago but never got around to posting about it. My parents, brother, sister in law, Hunter and I all went to the cave in St Paul for a little sunday adventure. Afterwards we went to lunch at The Bulldog and hung out in the park by Chad and Angy's apartment.

Penelope is such a sweetie. I love her. I got to spend time with her and my good friends Dawn and Bob on Thursday.

I can't believe i forgot!!!

My good friend Dawn had a baby girl on Sunday June 28th. Penelope Emma was born at 226am weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long.

We were in Chicago when she was born, but i was able to meet Penelope on Tuesday June 30th when she was freshly home from the hospital! :) I love her already. She is adorable and has awesome parents that love her and will spoil her i'm sure!:)

Update

Well it's been a week since i have posted. Don't worry, you haven't missed anything! :P I was sick all last week, even on my birthday. I called in sick to work on Wed and was in bed "dying" all day. Thursday i went into work but only for four hours because i still felt horrible. Friday i had already scheduled a day off and i needed it to recover anyway!

By Saturday i was feeling better and went to my friend Emily's to see her and our friend Kristine. Kristine is moving to Alabama to live with her husband who is in the military. He has been based in AL for awhile now but she was working as a teacher and living here until the end of the school year. The three of us have known each other for about 18 years, and recently have been having coffee dates to keep in touch. This was our final coffee date for awhile! :(

Sunday Hunter and I joined my parents, brother, and sister in law to go to the Wabasha Caves in St Paul and then out to lunch to celebrate my birthday. I do have some pictures, but they are still on my camera and i am too lazy to get it and upload them. You all will have to wait in suspense for the pics! :)

Today my friend Natalie and I booked our flights for ARIZONA!!! YIPPEE. Now we just have to wait til August to go.... It will definitely be a blast and i am looking forward to it!

Wedding

Hunter and I went to his friend Matt's wedding yesterday. It was downtown St Paul at the Great Hall. Very cool location. Weather sucked, but other than that it was a good wedding!! :) Here are a couple of pics.

Heat, farms, wind, country living.

A few weeks back, my brother and his wife moved from Medicine Lake (near Plymouth) to downtown St Paul. From a house on the lake, to a studio type apartment. Quite the change. They moved on a Friday night, and let me just say driving from suburbia to city is not my favorite hobby. Traffic three lanes deep kills me (and i wasn't even driving!!)

Yesterday I visited my good- very pregnant friend Dawn. She lives in Uptown. I used to hang out in uptown all the time and I really do enjoy the area, but let me tell you, driving down there on a 90 degree day at 4 in the afternoon isn't really ideal. Lake Calhoun is a very popular place in the summer, so people were jumping at the first opportunity to be down there enjoying the weather. The bumper to bumper of cars again confirmed that country driving is more my style.

Today as i was driving home on above mentioned 2 lane hwy, the wind was OUTTA control. There really aren't many buildings or houses out here in farm land and the wind whips across the fields nicely, along with it the smell of manuer! :)

Yes, it's true, I finally realized I am a country girl.

Still not much.

Again, for my 2 maybe 3 readers, i am sorry that i don't lead an exciting life. Once/if we have a baby, im sure my life will be more exciting!! :P

Speaking of babies, my good friend Lauren who is pregnant due end of July, is having some complications and is on bed rest. Her husband is in the military and is currently deployed to Iraq. Please pray (if you do) for her and her family. Pray for Lauren's husband to be safe and arrive home in time for the baby and for the baby to "stay in" awhile longer so that he is born healthy! Thanks in advance for keeping Lauren and her family in your thoughts. Lauren is an amazing person and had endured some tough times.

Oh, i should probably mention i had my wisdom teeth removed May 7th. I was in a shit ton of pain from one tooth beginning early may, so i made an appt to go to the dentist. They confirmed i should get the trouble some tooth out (along with the rest). So i made an appt with the oral surgeon. I was scared to tears of getting this done, but i have to admit, it wasn't that bad and actually was in more pain BEFORE the surgery than after.

It's now been over a week and i am pretty much healed. :)

I think that's all i know for now. Now that summer is here (i think!) we will be taking some weekend trips. Then i will have pics and stuff to blog about!

I have noticed that most of the blogs i read are slacking on the posts, myself included. Just not in the blogging mood i guess. Nothing cool or exciting has happened lately. Keep checking back, hopefully i will have something GOOD to blog about soon.

Weekend of accomplishments!

This past Saturday, my mom and I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Dawn. Here are some pictures! :) We had a good time and Dawn got some great gifts. I can't wait to meet the baby when he/she arrives in June! :)

Haunted House (for Katie who asked!)

A couple weeks back i mentioned i was at my lake house, which just happens to have a ghost. Believe or not this story is creepy!

I was house sitting back in February, and my friend Alyssa (who's parents own the house) was staying with me. Her and her friend went out to a party on a Saturday night and i was expecting them home sometime Sunday morning. I should note that I figured they would be crashing at some random persons house and would want to head out early, like i often did in college! :P Ok so Sunday morning, I was in the shower upstairs in the master bathroom. I had the door to the bathroom shut but the bedroom door was open. As i was drying off, i heard a cough similar to Alyssa's right outside the bathroom door. I assumed it was her looking for me. Then i heard voices or someone talking on a cell phone out in the hallway, again i assumed it was Alyssa, it sound just like her. So i finished up in the bathroom, headed into the bedroom and shut the door so i could get dressed. When i went downstairs, there was no one home, no car in the driveway and Alyssa's stuff was untouched. Call me crazy, but i KNOW i heard something.

Why a ghost you ask... well here's the rest of the story. I used to baby sit for Alyssa and her younger brother when they were young (now 23 and 17) and we experienced an incident of a missing slipper. Alyssa's slipper went missing for months. We searched HIGH and LOW, every corner of the house and could not find the slipper. We blamed John but at 6-7 years old he wasn't a master liar so we knew he was telling the truth when he said he didn't hide it. We also tried to blame the cleaning people.... After months of the slipper missing, it appeared in a spot that we had already checked more than once.

Still not convinced? Alyssa has heard and seen things in the same room where i heard voices. The house was built in the late 1800's so it IS possible someone died there.

While i was house sitting in March, i woke up to the bed i was sleeping in shaking. I know i was awake so it wasn't part of a dream. It felt sort of like what i would think a vibrating bed feel like! :) There is also frequent "scratching" in the walls. We used to say it was squirrels or mice running in the walls but they recently had all holes filled so it's unlikely any mice or squirrels can get in.

On the final night at the house this past March, Alyssa was home with me again and while she was in the same shower I mentioned above, she heard something get picked up and drop back down. When she came downstairs after showering, she asked if i had been up there (i had not been). She said she also heard music.......

I think we need to call the people of Paranormal State.

Private Blog

I have set my blog to allow selected people as readers only because I wasn't too sure who all was stopping by. I want to be able to vent about non friends/work if need be! :) Also, i may want to share more private and personal information in the future and i dont need just any ol' body reading it!

Still nothing going on around here.

We are alive and enjoying the sun and 40 degree weather. But nothing too exciting has been happening.

I did get a promotion at work! YIPEE! More work, more responsibility and MORE MONEY and VACATION DAYS. I am excited to see how the future pans out.

Lately, i have been feeling like the weekends just FLY by. I don't hate my job, but i really dread going back to work on Monday's. I haven't always felt this way, so i'm not sure what is the cause-- probably winter. :) It's dark when i get up and gets dark shortly after i get home.... I NEED THE SUN AND WARMTH. This cold dreary shit is killing me. All i want to do is lounge around on the couch or sleep. During the week we do NOTHING... i get up, go to work and come home and go to bed. What a boring life. On the weekends, i catch up on laundry, cleaning and any errands we have. I don't know where the time goes. Needless to say, i have nothing cool to blog about!

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO FUCKING STUPID!?!?!?!?!?!? I swear i deal with some of the dumbest people on the planet on a daily basis. I want to just bitch slap them and tell them to wake the fuck up.
